Seiko Prospex 140th Anniversary Limited Divers Green Dial Silver Steel Strap Watch For Men - SPB207J1
"One step ahead" is the motto that characterises Seiko, which this year marks 140 years since its founding. It is this significant anniversary that the brand has decided to celebrate with the release of the Seiko Prospex SPB207J1 140th Anniversary Limited Edition.
The inspiration for the new Seiko SPB207J1 was the colours of the natural richness of Iriomote island in Okinawa Prefecture - the pristine mangrove forests of the island, the surrounding sea that is famous among divers for its rich coral reefs. In addition, Iriomote Island is home to rare species of plants and animals, some of which can be classified as endemics.
The Seiko SPB207J1 watch from the Prospex range builds on the success of the diving models, a modern reworking and homage to the first diving watch with a high-frequency movement and 300m water resistance, the Seiko 6159-7000/1 from 1968.
The Seiko SPB207J1 is one of the most popular and long-standing diving watches in the Seiko range, thanks to its features, proven case shape, excellent workmanship and, last but not least, affordability. The watch is powered by an automatic movement 6R35, which features a manual winding, a power reserve of 70 hours and hacking (stopping the seconds hand when setting the time). The watch case and bracelet, with micro-adjustment on the clasp, are made of stainless steel with a hardened surface. The clear and easy-to-read dial is protected by a sapphire glass with internal anti-reflective coating. Better legibility in low light conditions is ensured by luminescence Lumibrite on the hands and indices.
The watch with a case size of 42 mm has a rotating lunette with a diving scale for reading the time spent underwater and a screw-down crown. The water resistance of the model is 200 m.
The watch differs from its predecessor by improving some functions and modifying some elements - the watch retains the shape of the 1968 model with the difference of using a slightly smaller and lower case with a screw-down dagger, it meets the standards for diving watches, it offers a sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective coating, the hands and indices have been modified, the water resistance of this model is "only" 200 m.
