Performance and style for all your water sports activities. In the 1960s, the new sport of diving became very fashionable. Timing was everything to divers, and Breitling set out to create a dive watch that was as unfussy as possible for them, devoid of any function that wasn't tuned to their underwater life-saving claims. This reduced watch was named Slow Motion. What remained were clear lines, massive luminous hands, angular indices and a high-contrast dial ring to guarantee maximum readability.
In any case, it was practical. But what really wowed people was her look. The new Superocean revisits the acclaimed design cues of the slow motion and complements them with modern features like a ceramic inlay bezel and brightly colored dials. Wide hands and indices in luminescent Super-LumiNova® ensure easy readability under water. The watch is water resistant to 300 meters (1000 feet), shock, sand and salt water resistant. The bronze version uses a special alloy that has excellent corrosion resistance but develops a subtle patina over time that makes the watch even more unique. The two strap options (rubber or metal strap) feature a folding clasp that allows for minute adjustments down to 15mm, making it easy to wear the watch over rashguards and wetsuits.
The scratch-resistant ceramic inlay bezel will never wear out or fade. For safety, the bezel rotates unidirectionally on most sizes and bidirectionally on 46mm with a patented locking mechanism. Best of all, this is no longer just a dive watch – surf it, swim it, hit the beach bar with it, then wear it to dinner. The Superocean is the perfect balance between nostalgic legacy and a fresh new look.
