Tissot was founded in 1853 by Charles-Félicien Tissot and his son Charles-Émile Charles-Félicien Tissot & Son in Le Locle, Switzerland. In 1930 Tissot joined Omega and founded a holding company called SSIH (Société Suisse pour l'Industrie Horlogère) which was the first Swiss watchmaking association. To deal with the crisis in the watch industry, Tissot also joined SMH and formed a group company called The Swatch Group in 1998.
With the slogan " Innovators by tradition"." Tissot continues to develop and innovate to create Swiss-quality and high-tech watches. Apart from wanting to create elegant, fashionable and original watches, Tissot also maneuvers to create watches made of materials that are rarely used such as wood, stone and fiberglass in its collection. Some the most famous collections include the T-Rock Watch, Tissot Woodwatch and Astrolon which use the plastic material that became the forerunner of the Swatch watch.
Tissot is also very close to the world of sports and has become an official partner with several sports masters such as F1, MotoGP, Tour de France, NBA and most recently as Official Time Keeper at the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia. Currently Tissot has sold more than 4 million watches worldwide and have been sold in more than 160 countries. Tissot presents authentic timepieces, using special materials, sophisticated functionality and highly detailed designs. Tissot wanted to bring high-quality, affordable watches. The + sign on the Tissot logo is the same as on the Swiss flag, symbolizing quality (Swiss Made) and reliability that has been proudly demonstrated since 1853.
