Maurice Lacroix Aikon Venturer Blue Dial Blue Rubber Strap Watch for Men - AI6058-SS001-430-1
The Maurice LaCroix Aikon Venturer AI6058-SS001-430-1 features a sharp barrel styled brushed steel case is another classy touch. It measure in at 43. One of the standout features of the watch is the unidirectional rotating dive bezel that features a graduated dive scale for the first 20 minutes and finished with a luminous pip at 12 o’clock. Another addition is the 10 minute ‘Claws’ that sit on the bezel, this is an instantly recognisable addition which helps define the refined shape of the case. The case gives the watch a crisp feel, which creates a gives it a more modern look and feel to it. Another notable feature is the pair of screwed-on crown guards reminding the wearer that this piece is designed for diving.
The Dial:
One of the most significant visual changes that distinguishes it from the traditional Aikon is the aquatic inspired smooth finish, instead of the ‘Clous De Paris’ finish on the Aikon Automatic. The hour markers are circular in shape, but each features a deep rectangular cutout that neatly mirrors the long stripes of luminous paint on the sword hands. The contrast between curved and straight surfaces echoes a neat theme throughout the Aikon line. The hands are also lume coated which is an important feature for dive watches. The legibility of the hands is great.
The Bracelet:
The rubber bracelet, which is features the Maurice LaCroix logo, makes for a very comfortable wear. The curved lugs also aid this, as it feels as if the watch is hugging your wrist. The subtle and gradual taper towards the clasp, starting at 25mm at the lugs and tapering to 20mm, really helps this too.
Functions:
The Venturer features two traditionally-powered timepieces: a three-hand with date model and a chronograph version fitted with a day-date function and update movement. One of the standout functions of this watch, that sets it apart from its Quartz predecessor, is the automatic ML155 movement, made exclusively by Maurice LaCroix. It also offers the wearer a power reserve of 40 hours, because of the 26 jewels feature within the ML155 movement, which also allow the watch to operate with extreme precision. It operates at a rate of 28’800 vph / 4 Hz.
The movement is not visible from the closed caseback, as is expected of a watch with a water resistant rating of 300m. The stainless steel back is closed with 7 screws with special heads, and the back is embossed with the Maurice Lacroix logo within a wave motif.
This watch has a water resistance of 200 metres, making it suitable for diving.
